In 2023, there will be a serious food shortage in the world
The US bureau of “Report” informs that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres made such a warning in his next call for peace on the State Independence Day of Ukraine.
The Secretary-General said that many farmers in the world are already planning to reduce the acreage for the next season.
In his speech at the UN Security Council, A. Guterres pointed out that the people of Ukraine need peace and the importance of establishing lasting peace in the region.
Commenting on the six-month-long Russia-Ukraine war, A. Guterres said that its consequences are felt far away from Ukraine.
“The Russia-Ukraine war has revealed new vulnerabilities in a global system weary of conflicts, inequality, health problems, the post-pandemic economy and the climate crisis. “The rapid increase in food, fertilizer and fuel prices has led to a global crisis that has pushed millions of people into poverty and increased hunger and malnutrition,” the UN chief said.
