The forest fire in the Kras region of Slovenia, which is the biggest event in modern Slovenian history, has been brought under control.
“Report” informs about this with reference to “TASS”.
Simon Vendramin, the head of Slovenia’s natural disaster control operation, said that there are still fires in some places and that they will be closely monitored by experts in the next few days.
“Next week we will begin a comprehensive assessment of the damage to both private property and forests. In the fall, we will start preparing a comprehensive preventive plan to protect Kras so that a similar fire does not happen again.”
It should be noted that at least 1.5 thousand firefighters participated in extinguishing the forest fire.
