The grain area in Nakhchivan has increased by 745 hectares, and the harvest is over

The grain harvest has ended in Nakhchivan.

“Report” informs about this with reference to the State Statistics Committee of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

According to information, 64,259 hectares of land were planted in the autonomous republic for the harvest of 2022, of which 33,466 hectares or 52.1 percent were grain fields. Compared to 2021, the grain planting area has increased by 745 hectares.

Wheat was planted on 21,378 hectares of grain cultivation area, and barley on 12,088 hectares. 4038 hectares or 12.1% of the fields are in Sharur, 11094 hectares or 33.1% in Babek, 1607 hectares or 4.8% in Ordubad, 5711 hectares (17.1%) in Julfa, 6056 hectares or 18.1 percent of Kangarli, 1,527 hectares or 4.6 percent of Shahbuz, 2,441 hectares or 7.3 percent of Sedarak regions, and 992 hectares or 2.9 percent of Nakhchivan city.

In the current year, 107,418 tons of products were supplied from the grain fields, which is 4,046 tons or 3.9 percent more than in 2021. 69,945 tons of the harvested crop are wheat, and 37,473 tons are barley.

Productivity averaged 32.1 centners per hectare, which is 1.6 percent more than last year. 16,484 tons or 15.3 percent of the obtained product was in Sharur, 35,308 tons or 33 percent in Babek, 4,663 tons or 4.3 percent in Ordubad, 17,007 tons or 15.8 percent in Julfa, 18,064 tons or 16.8 percent of Kangarli, 4 081 tons or 3.8 percent of Shahbuz, 8 941 tons or 8.3 percent of Sedarak districts, and 2 870 tons or 2.7 percent of Nakhchivan city.
