The European Union (EU) calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to immediately stop recent hostilities around the Lachin Corridor and contact line.
It is noted that the main point is to reduce tension, fully comply with the ceasefire regime and return to the negotiating table. The EU is committed to de-escalation.
“The European Union calls for an immediate cessation of military operations between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia around the Lachin Corridor and in other areas of the contact line. Unfortunately, these clashes have already resulted in casualties and injuries.
It is critical to return to the negotiating table to achieve de-escalation, full respect for the ceasefire and find an agreed solution.
The European Union is committed to helping resolve tensions and continue to contribute to sustainable peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” the statement emphasized.
