A meeting was held with Egidius Navikas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Azerbaijan, at the Ministry of Health.

It was reported that Health Minister Teymur Musayev stressed the dynamic development of friendly relations between the countries.
Pointing out the successful cooperation in many fields, including the field of healthcare and medical science, Teymur Musayev noted that there is great potential for the exchange of experience between national healthcare institutions and the expansion of relations in the pharmaceutical industry: all necessary means, including all opportunities for the exchange of modern methodical and scientific-practical experience in the field of continuing professional education of higher medical specialists are available.
In turn, Egidius Navikas noted the importance of high-level mutual visits in expanding bilateral relations. Pointing out that the Cooperation Memorandum was signed between the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and the Azerbaijan Medical University in May of this year, the ambassador emphasized that this document will contribute to the expansion of medical cooperation between our countries.
Expressing his support for the reforms carried out in the healthcare system of our country, the ambassador noted that his country is ready to contribute in every way to the modernization of the medical education system in Azerbaijan in accordance with internationally accepted methodologies and standards.
The current state of cooperation in the field of healthcare and medical science and potential development opportunities were discussed at the meeting, which took place in conditions of mutual understanding.
