Azerbaijan was represented at the event of landlocked countries

On August 15-16, a conference of transport ministers of landlocked developing countries was held in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan. Azerbaijan was represented at the event by a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rovshan Rustamov.

More than 100 representatives from 50 countries participated in the conference. The event was also attended by the heads of the United Nations Organization, Economic Cooperation Organization, TRACECA and other international institutions.

Within the framework of the conference, a ministerial meeting was held, as well as 6 sessions covering various topics such as the impact of the “COVID-19” pandemic, the implementation of the Vienna Action Program and the challenges faced, the financing of transport links, the development of transport corridors, and regional integration.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Rovshan Rustamov informed about the projects implemented in the field of transport in our country and which are currently being implemented, and noted the importance of applying digitalization and innovations in increasing the efficiency of international transport corridors.

It should be noted that within the framework of the visit, the deputy minister held bilateral meetings with the representatives of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. Discussions were held on the expansion of existing relations with these countries and possible areas of cooperation.
